A few weeks ago I stumbled on http://thebestheartsarecrunchy.blogspot.com/ where I really didn't understand what was being done on Fridays when people would do posts of old postcards. I did finally get the gist of it and posted a couple of cards. Beth, who hosts the exchange from her blog, is a really neat gal. So today I am posting a postcard that shows my father at age 19 - he is seated in the wicker chair with his friend, Joe. I have another really nice card about a year later that I will post next week. The fellows always seem to have a cigar either in their hand or in their mouth.
What did your dad and his friend do? It looks to me like they are wearing muck boots...
ReplyDeleteI adore these old postcards--especially when they are of family. Thank you for sharing these with us--what a funny duo they were. I imagine they must have been fun to be around!
ReplyDeleteHappy PFF! You're pretty neat yourself!
Lots of the memories of my dad are tied up in the smell of cigars. I always love it! Cool picture. Thanks for sharing and happy PFF!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful card and memory for you! Thanks for sharing with us and Happy PFF!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card to have, they look as though they have just wandered in from the outdoors.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had some postcards of my family back when photo postcards were popular.
