Another Great Old Picture

I just got a new computer (it's exciting!) and still don't have my family photos back in my files so today I am posting another of the old pictures I have found on the internet that I think is so neat. These pretty little girls are dressed so prettily with wonderful hats and lots of lace, eyelet and ruffles on their frocks. Why are they not smiling? Again, I don't remember where I found the picture and am sorry about that. Enjoy these little ladies! (Click to enlarge)

A Bride and Her Attendants

The beautiful bride and her attendants are not related to me or any of my family. Unfortuately, I don't remember where on the internet I got this picture but I just think it is wonderful. The gorgeous clothing, the huge bouquets and the sweet girls are fascinating. I think they look like they are sisters. What beautiful dresses and they are street length - even the bride's gown. Despite that fact, she has a long veil and and it falls from such a really cute cap. The girl to the bride's left is her maid of honor since her dress and jewelry are different than the other four girls. All of them are wearing different shoes, also. Just wanted to share this pretty picture with you - hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I have several other pictures I have found that I like so much that I will post those over the coming weeks. Mother and Daughters

I do not know these pretty girls and their mother. I found the picture on the internet and thought it was delightful. The bonnets are such fun and the girls - and their mom - are very pretty. I wonder what the occasion was for these very beautiful outfits. It puts me in mind of a dance recital. Hope you enjoy the lovely ladies. (Click to enlarge)

They Could be My Relatives

These three pictures were found in a small album that was most certainly put together by my father many years ago. Nothing was written on the pictures or in the album to indicate who the subjects might be, and I do not recognize the woman and her two children. However, since there are quite a few members in Dad's family it could be one of his sisters that I didn't know and her children. What a great picture of the lady in the really great old car. I'll bet that street is a hard one to drive on when it is raining. I feel sure it is the same lady that is the mother to these little kids.
This little girl looks so very well pleased with herself. I am sure she is so proud of her pretty dress and grand hairbow. Also note the tight little curls - surely there were not permanents back then?
The little fellow is looking cute in his sailor-like outfit. Here the mother reads to her little children. Wish I could ask someone about these pictures - but I am afraid it is too late. Although they must have had some connection to my father if they were in his album.

Some Fun Pictures

I have seen quite a few pictures featuring people sitting on the "moon" back in the earlier years of the last century. These young couples seem to be having a great time posing for their picture. All are dressed up and looking good. I don't know these folks nor do I know

these cute little kids - probably a brother and sister. Don't you just love his short pants and long stockings? The little girl is looking very cute in her pretty dress and a nice necklace.

But I do know these nice ladies! My Aunt Leah and my grandmother, Maggie, looking out of the "airplane". They would have been in California visiting Nelle, my other aunt. This was in one of the latest group of pictures my brother sent me. I love this one! (Click to enlarge)

Great Pictures of Unknown Children

Pictures sent by my brother that are sweet but of unknown children. I believe he mentioned that he got them - or one of them - from the daughter of the owner of the old general store in Rome, Illinois, where we grew up. These pretty little girls were all dressed up - was it for a birthday party? I just thought you might enjoy looking at the pictures. I love their pretty dresses - some look as if they have pantaloons underneath. Stockings with stripes must have been very stylish, too.
Lots of children - of all ages - by an old car and I think the driver is the fellow with the cap on the left side of the picture. Might this have been a school outing or a Sunday school picnic? So many things you can think of in regard to the reason for the gathering. These children go from very small to maybe junior high age. Regardless, these are two very sweet pictures from long ago. Enjoy. (Click to enlarge)

A Lady After My Own Heart

I don't know who this lady is, but I think she and I have common interests. She has made a multitude of lovely pillows and it is very obvious that she is very proud of her work. I found her on the internet and thought maybe she would be a nice addition to my blog under the label----

Some Unknown Subjects but Fun Pictures

I don't know Anna - I assume she may be my grandfather's neice - but I think she is adorable in her finery. Her hat is absolutely wonderful and I am sure she will show up one day on Funoldhag's fashion Friday even though she is here now. I don't think that is a live bird!
Nor do I know little Corrine - but she is so cute and all dressed up that I thought she deserved to be posted here for people to see. You can tell she feels so pretty in her lovely outfit - what a sweet little girl. I love her shoes.
Three more ladies in gorgeous outfits that are a mystery to me except for the one on the right who I think is a very good friend of my Aunt Nelle. I am pretty sure her first name is Ruth and she shows up in quite a few of the pictures I have. Looks like there are quite a few other ladies on the porch of the building in the background. That may be the big shelterhouse that overlooks the Illinois River on Grandview Drive Park in Peoria. It looks like you can see through it. And here is Ethel - another stranger to me but someone who was in the Pearces' lives. My brother scanned the back of the picture, also, and Ethel is lamenting the fact that her outfit is kind of out of style. Fun reading what was going on in a person's mind way back then.
Thought you might enjoy these even though I don't have an explanation of who these lovely ladies are. The clothes are so wonderful - although I am glad dressing is much more casual today. Sometimes it is actually a little too casual. Enjoy!! (Click pictures to enlarge)
