Postcard Friendship Friday

Here is a postcard featuring two little children who look as if they would rather be doing something other then posing before an old crazy quilt that is being used as a backdrop for their photo. Cute little kids and lovely old quilt. You may or may not know, but quilts are a very important part of my life and have been for getting close to 40 years now. It is an obsession in a way. The back of this card has nothing written on it, but I have found another card----

which is also in the field of needle arts. This one you could send to a friend as part of a promotion for the Modern Handcraft company in Kansas City. The instructions are in the message on the card which shows some really great vintage embroidery and quilt patterns. I have started doing embroidery again and really enjoy it. Nice to have something to pick up and work on while watching tv or just relaxing. Takes no effort getting ready - just work as long as you wish then put it away until the next time.

The kids are cute, even if they don't like their picture taken. I remember the cards for the patterns ... my mother and my granny. Memory day! Happy PFF!

That must have been their nth time posing for the camera - no wonder they don't look happy! hahaah. I have always wanted to learn how to quilt... I had a quilted blanket as a present from my dear friend and I treasure it so much I rarely use it (for fear of wearing them out). I know how to crochet though :) Have a great Sunday!

I love that card too. It reminds me of a vintage picture I just purchased the other day for $1.

I'd love to see some of your quilts. I bet they're absolutely beautiful.

Old Pictures of the People in My Life

In this blog, I will post pictures from the past of the many people in my life who I love and have loved. The initial post and any that are labeled Pearce Family refer to my mother's family. Dan and Maggie Pearce had five children, Nelle, Nan, my mother, Harry (Ham), Leah and Ed. They took a lot of pictures and I plan to post many of them. My brother has sent me many pictures over the internet this past week - some of which I haven't seen - and this has prompted me to set up this blog to display those wonderful old photos.

I will also be posting pictures of my family, my husband's family, and our family. Those posts will be labeled by the family's name in the list on the sidebar. I hope this is something that will be enjoyed by anyone who looks in on

my blog.

I will try and tell as much as I can remember about people and places and events and of course much of it will be inaccurate but really just having the great old photographs to look at is fun in itself. And I do know who lots of the folks are.
