Postcard Friendship Friday

These postcards were purchased when my husband and I took a trip in August of 1950 as is the subject of my previous post.

I have noticed that some of the participants in PFF talk about "linen" cards - at least, I think that's what I read. These cards appear to have the texture of cloth on the surface.

This is a pretty card with the Maid of the Mist. Do you know I can't remember if we took a tour on that or not! Understandable, since it was 60 years ago!

Many thanks to Beth at http://thebestheartsarecrunchy.blogspot.com/ for being host!

  1. Yes they are linen cards. What beautiful ones of Niagara... I am sure you have pleasant memories even if you can't remember if you went on that particular tour. Happy PFF and TFS!

  2. Nice. Funny, too - the first card looks like a carwash shampoo. "The Works". :)

  4. The first card is amazing! I thought they'd put coloured dyes in the water - then I read about the floodlights. :)

  5. I like the second one. I've never been to Niagara Falls and I think it would be fun to ride on that boat.

  6. The multicolored lights on the falls remind me of a plastic sheet with similar hues that people would place on the TV screen to mimic "color TV." An uncle of mine had it back in the early 1960s. Ah, memories.

  7. The colors seem more vivid on the linens, and I especially appreciate the night scenes, as they appear to glow. I think it has something to do with the 'texture' and how the color is applied that makes it look like a canvas.
