Postcard Friendship Friday

If I am reading the date right,  this was taken in Portland, OR, about 82 years ago today.  Lovely picture even though it is faded.  I love the soft, sepia color.
No message on the back.  I just did a little search and the 2011 festival is going on now.   If you would like to check out the calendar of events, just click the link http://www.rosefestival.org/events/

And here is one for Flag Day.  Betsy Ross sews another stripe to our flag.

And another link for you to use is http://thebestheartsarecrunchy.blogspot.com/  which will take you over to Beth's blog where you can find more postcards on this PFF.  Thank you again for hosting!  Happy PFF to all.  (Click to enlarge)

  1. Neat cards, Carol! I was just looking at one of those Arcadia books about specific cities, images from postcards with some history tossed in for good measure. Mostly RPCs. The one I was looking at was for Bozeman, MT, put together by a friend of mine, who also did one about Helena. One of the images was of an automobile 'float' which had overly large Sweet Peas as it;s theme. They have been celebrating Sweet Pea festivals for I don't know how long, but it must be something like the Rose Festival.

    NEAT cards!

  2. Those are interesting postcards. I have always thought about collecting vintage postcards but I don't know where to find them. I wish someone will give it to me. My entry for Postcard Friendship Friday is up - My PPF Entry.

  9. Portland is the city of roses, and they celebrate the Rose Festival. The Rose Parade occurs (most of the time) on New Year's Day in Pasadena, California in conjuction with the Rose Bowl - the granddaddy of all college footbal games. My mom is 80 and has been to the Rose Parade every year since she was 5 years old except for a couple. It's pretty awesome!
